Michael Landy has recently been commissioned to create the Humanitarian Aid Memorial, the first permanent memorial to humanitarian workers. For this ‘in conversation’ event, Landy will discuss his memorial proposal for Gunnersbury Park in London and share previous works – including Breakdown (2001) and Acts of Kindness (2011) for Art on the Underground – as part of the artistic context for his proposal.

This will be followed by a roundtable discussion between Landy, Sir Brendan Gormley, Humanitarian Aid Memorial Committee member, David Bowler, Gunnersbury Museum and Park Development Trust, and Jordan Kaplan, Contemporary Art Society Senior Art Producer, which will open up to attendees for a more informal conversation over drinks.
