Paul Pfeiffer: Prologue to the Story of the Birth of Freedom opens Sunday 12 November 2023 at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.

Surveying twenty-five years of Pfeiffer's multi-disciplinary practice this will be the first U.S retrospective of the pioneering artist, known for his incisive work that interrogates ideas of spectacle, belonging and identity. Through his masterful editing of found footage, pop stars, actors, and professional athletes come to embody the complex intersections of worship, obsession, and desire that shape mass culture and manipulate our collective consciousness.
